I have an upcoming holiday photo day (with three bookings out of five available slots already taken!) so I have groups on my mind these days. I am working on fun poses (because I hate the stilted looks for groups out there and because I want my clients' sessions to be really fun and to result in a modern looking family portrait).Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a friend who, along with her cousins came up with the idea of having a portrait taken of them to give to their grandmother, who has a big birthday coming up. I love the location she picked out. It was under an overpass for a highway. There is a trail that runs under the overpass and there is graffiti on the supports holding the highway up. It is very industrial looking and I especially liked the lighting.
And the group was fun and cooperative. After shooting toddlers and little children, cooperative earns you major brownie points in my sessions! :)
I now have a new favorite group photo to add to my portfolio (and other good ones as well...)
