This weekend, I discovered a mermaid in a pool...
Okay, not really but wouldn't that be cool?
The mermaid in question was actually my youngest stepdaughter who recently became the proud owner of a mermaid tail. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first when she mentioned she was saving up for it. I mean, seriously, a mermaid tail? Right....
Now that I have seen this pseudo-appendage in person and more importantly, seen her swim IN it, I think it is pretty cool. She swam really well with it on. In fact, one might wonder if she was, in fact, a mermaid. She seemed at ease the entire time.
My oldest stepdaughter is the person responsible for the quote with the photos. She actually tried out the mermaid tail and though I think it looked cute on her, she found it really hard to swim in. In fact, at one point I asked her if she was okay and she said no, she might be drowning...kidding of course, but she said it was a lot harder than it looks! Apparently, some skills need to be acquired to really maximize use of this thing.
Of course, the photographer side of me (which is always the dominant side especially in the face of antique shoppes, flea markets and anywhere else cool props can be found) wonders how I can get my hands on one or two of these as future props...hmmm...
